This is not a self-defence crash course. It's a practice — one that changes how you carry yourself, how you respond under pressure, and how you feel walking through the world. In a small group of up to 12, you'll learn real boxing and kickboxing technique while developing something more valuable than fitness: body confidence, nervous system control, and a calm that holds when life gets hard. Your body does its best work when it's given space to recover. Recover and Reset is a guided session focused on mobility, nervous system regulation, and intentional movement — the counterpart to hard training that most people skip and almost everyone needs. Whether you're working through soreness, managing stress, or simply learning to slow down with purpose, this class gives your body and mind the reset they're asking for. Suitable for all fitness levels. Come as you are.

Over 20 years in martial arts. Founder of Breaking Barriers Fitness Coaching. I found kickboxing as a way to manage stress — and it quickly became a doorway into a lifelong fascination with movement, the nervous system, and how we meet pressure in our bodies and in life.

My work blends strength, martial arts, and personal safety with a deep respect for nervous system regulation.

2    Book your first session

      You will receive a welcome email that includes everything you need to know, including a current timetable          and booking links.  Pick a session that works for you and show up. Your wraps are already waiting.

3    We take it from there

      Jo knows you're new. There's no deep end. Just a warm, structured class with people exactly like you. You'll              leave feeling stronger than you expected.

Why should I choose Street Smart over a traditional boxing or kickboxing class?
Simple - nothing here is generic. The goal is to help you understand your body which in turn allows it to work smarter, harder, quicker and stronger. You take what you learn into everyday life - better balance, better stress management, more balanced responses, increased physical strength and better cardio and endurance.

I've never done this before. Is it actually for me?
Yes. The program is designed specifically for people with no experience. You are shown exactly what to do from day one. Everyone you see looking confident in the room once stood exactly where you're standing right now.

I don't feel very fit. Will I be able to keep up?

You don't get fit to start boxing. You start boxing to get fit. Everyone works at their own pace. Sessions are challenging but never competitive. You are working against yourself, not anyone else — and you are always allowed to pause, breathe, grab a drink etc.

What age range trains here?

Our clients are predominantly 30 to 60. This program is built specifically for this demographic. If regular gyms have felt generic or irrelevant to where you are in life, that's exactly why this exists.

What happens after the 2 weeks?

We have a conversation about continuing. There is no automatic charge, no pressure, and no awkward sales pitch. You choose what happens next. If you decide to join on direct debit, that's when you receive your free boxing gloves.

What do I need to bring?

Comfortable training clothes, a towel and a water bottle. Your hand wraps are included and waiting for you at your first session. Gloves are available to borrow during your Intro Offer period.

I'm worried I'll be awkward.

Everyone in that room has felt, and sometimes still feels that way.  We embrace the awkward, uncomfortable and challenging moments - that's where we grow. Rest assured everyone only has the best of intentions in our room. You will get nothing but support, understanding and the warmest of welcomes from our crew.

I'm recovering from an injury/post partum/have a "limitation" (physical, mental, emotional) that has stopped me from doing exercise in the past.

Unbreakable Intro - Terms of purchase

 Redemption Period

The Intro Pass must be activated within 30 days of the date of purchase. Passes not redeemed within this window expire and are forfeited. No extensions will be granted.

2  Consecutive Training Period

The 2-week pass runs as 14 consecutive calendar days from the date of your first session. It cannot be paused, split, or extended for any reason, including illness, travel, or personal commitments.

3 No Refunds

All Intro Pass purchases are final and non-refundable. This applies regardless of how many sessions are attended during the 2-week period.

4 Free Boxing Gloves

Free boxing gloves are provided to members who sign up to an ongoing direct debit membership only. Gloves are not included for casual or pay-as-you-go training. Members training casually after their intro period will need to purchase their own gloves separately.

5 Shin Guards

For members who continue training on an ongoing basis, the purchase of shin guards is highly recommended. They are not required during the intro period but will enhance your comfort and safety in classes involving kickboxing and conditioning work.
